QR Codes
Facebook has recently implemented a system that creates QR Coded status messages.
Whats a QR Code?
According to Wikipedia, a QR Code is a two-dimensional bar code created by Japanese corporation Denso-Wave in 1994. The "QR" is derived from "Quick Response", as the creator intended the code to allow its contents to be decoded at high speed.
A QR code can store up to 4,296 characters of text or just about 2MB of binary data. Once intepreted, the data recorded can lead you to a website.prompt you to make a phone call or send a text or e-mail.
You can even create a vCard to add a contact to your device or provide location coordinates in Google Maps.
As you can see, the possibilities are endless!!
QR Codes need to be interpreted by a reader, the Kaywa reader is the best I've seen so far for Nokia S60 Devices, download it for free here ~ http://reader.kaywa.com (registration required)
Are there any other code readers you use?

You can create your own QR Codes here
Trés cool, although it doesnt show up on my Facebook (which is set to .DE language, btw).
ReplyDeleteMay be related to Google Nexusmoja kwani it apparently gave QR another chance.
It was just a test - http://techcrunch.com/2010/03/16/facebook-qr-code/
ReplyDeleteTheres great potential in QR codes, people just need to be inventive
I did not speak it.
ReplyDeleteFor years now I produce DVD′s in adobe encore from my miniDV′s complete with menus etc... The problem is that all these DVD′s are filling up my room and it is difficult to navigate trough this pile.
ReplyDeleteI was wondering if it is possible to transfer all my miniDV′s to harddisk as if it is one very large DVD with menu′s navigating possibilities, chapter menus etc.
This way I have everything in one place.
Is there software for this purpose available that goes as deep as adobe encore. I do not like pre-programmed stuff and want as much creative control as possible.
Is it possible to keep the DV-format so no re-encoding is possible and add menus, navigation, animated buttons etc
With modern terrabyte harddisk the technologie is available but it seems software is up to the task...
